Duart'S STORY

Our

STORY

Duart, Gippsland’s Catering and Function Centre, occupies a Victorian homestead, built-in 1883 as the Maffra home of Hon Allan McLean, a local businessman who was to become Premier of Victoria in 1899 and in 1901, Gippsland’s first federal representative. The home was named

after Duart Castle in Scotland, the seat of the

Clan McLean.

Today Duart is still the charming homestead of yesteryear, renovated and converted into

reception rooms which tastefully enhance the
Victorian style building.
